An ideology is a set of conscious and unconscious ideas that constitute one's expectations and goals. An ideology is a way of looking at and understanding things. It is a system of belief based on Myth. Myths are stories we tell ourselves.

Week 13

Contemporary artwork investigation

Chose a contemporary artist with an established practice and arts profile. This artist should be someone who interests you and whose work you feel is connected to your current practice in some way. (This may be the same artist you chose for Task 4)

Illustrated Essay
Choose one of their artworks to focus on and research and construct an essay discussing the works historical and cultural connections, the ideology represented in the work and the works connection to your own practice. Use images and or web links to illustrate paragraphs.

Consider ergonomics, work periods, bookmarking research and file saving.

Use in-text referencing and include alphabetical bibliography at the end of your essay. Use the Harvard method for your references.
